Who are we at "ZamSaf"?

We're a small specialist safari consultancy based in the heart of the Zambezi Valley

• strong on the ground in Southern Africa,

• closely allied to a small selection of owner-run safari operations in Zimbabwe, Zambia and Botswana,

• well supported through a technical and commercial joint venture in the UK

Ably led by a lady-boss, Trish, the boys in the "executive" team, Chris, Craig and John are held in close daily check by even more ladies in our offices: Nikki, Liz, Delene, Gail, Princess, Jenny, Rosa and Eve.

• Sustained on a daily basis by Irene and Sekuru.

• Constantly entertained by an ever-changing menagerie of office pets - Gizzie, Kip, Danger and an odd assortment of snakes, bugs and other creatures produced by Ashton, Corrie and a string of other bush kids, stray guides returning from safari, neighbours and visitors...

A bit about our company - ZamSaf

We operate as a joint venture between

• "Legends Safari and Travel (PVT) Ltd." trading as "The Zambezi Safari and Travel Company" - a tour operator based in Zimbabwe. [Registered Offices: 1 Union Avenue, Harare, Zimbabwe]

• "The Zambezi Safari and Travel Company Ltd" - a marketing and administrative company based in England. [Registered Offices: 285 Milton Road, Cambridge, CB4 1XQ, United Kingdom]

The Zimbabwean company started in 1995 when we launched our first web site and took over the marketing, sales and administrative functions of two safari operations - we were the first tour operator in Zimbabwe to offer consumers direct access to operators via the Internet. Our focus since then has been on marketing and selling safaris as tour operators and agents - day to day safari operations are left strictly to the safari operators themselves.

The UK company was registered in 1998 to provide "first world" commercial, technical and marketing support to the Zimbabwean business which now operates throughout Southern Africa, predominantly in Zimbabwe, Zambia and Botswana and to a lesser extent in South Africa, Namibia, Mozambique, Malawi and Mauritius. The company has strong technical and commercial associates in Europe.

What do we do?

Our core business is safari marketing, consulting and sales. Quite simply we focus on planning and arranging tailor-made safaris in Southern Africa for independent travellers and small groups.

• In many cases we share preferential rates and in some cases exclusive trade arrangements with some of our operators. As a result, we're able to compete aggressively without adding premiums to safari prices. When it comes to discounted specials we simply can't be beaten.

• We act as wholesalers to a modest number of very competent agents in North America, Australia and Europe.

• We earn our daily bread through commissions on the safaris that we sell.

• The registered offices of "Legends Safari and Travel (PVT) Ltd." are located at Ernst and Young, 1 Union Avenue, Harare, Zimbabwe.

• Our offices are located at the Heights Centre in Kariba, opposite St. Barbara's Church, downstairs from the "Legends" shop - 15km from the airport, approximately 7km from the main marinas and border-post with Zambia.

• We all live in Kariba - our directors rotate duties in the UK
