Ibo Island dhow safari

Hi Chris,

We just returned from Mozambique and I wanted to send a quick thank you for all your help with the trip. We had a truly wonderful time, and actually found the itinerary change to our benefit. After the 5 flights and 24 hours it took to get from Abuja to Ibo Island, we were quite happy for the huge beds and luxurious accommodations before our dhow adventure. My husband is still raving about the trip – he said it’s the best vacation we’ve ever taken, and that’s huge praise coming from him.

Anyway, thanks again for your patience and assistance. Although we’ll find it hard to beat this trip, we’re very much looking forward to our anniversary trip in September.

Warm regards,

Island hopping in Mozambique

Trish is just back from her travels in Mozambique and couldn’t wait to share her photos and tales.  There are a few very special, off-the-beaten-path places that she’s particularly excited about, none more so than Ibo Island, once Mozambique’s mighty trading centre but now all but forgotten to the outside world for nearly 100 years.

And her top tip for tackling the stuning islands of the Quirimbas Archipelago?  Island hopping by traditional Portuguese dhow!
