What is the position on malaria?

Malaria is endemic in the Zambezi Valley. Chloroquine resistance is prevalent. The worst time for malaria is from mid-February to about May. Despite the scare stories - malaria can be avoided. Sensible precautions are necessary: Speak to your physician before you come and stick to the course of prescribed prophylactics. Use physical barriers. Deet-based repellants work - we use Off! and Autan. Use a mosquito net - all of our camps, lodges, walking and canoe safaris have them.
