Guided by Chris Worden
Southern Africa’s “green season” from November to April is simply epic. The summer rains are about, there’s little dust, dramatic dawns and sunsets the region’s awash with migrant birds, mostly in breeding plumage, all well nourished by an abundance of insects and fresh seeds. The bush is green and lush and whilst game is often dispersed, large nursery and breeding herds are easily found and seasonal fruits from wild mangos to marulas attract game in good numbers.
Botswana is smack bang in the middle of this seasonal bounty. So our resident Professional Guide Chris Worden is running a 12 day privately guided safari combining Victoria Falls with the best of Botswana in January 2015.
Chris has over 30 years worth of guiding and wildlife photography experience. A keen birder and well respected naturalist Chris is the ideal trip leader and travel companion for specialist photographers and first-timer-visitors alike.
The privately guided Botswana safari runs 10 to 21 January
- It starts in Chris’s home town in Victoria Falls where 2 nights are spent at Ilala Lodge
- next stop is a 3 night stay in Chobe National Park. Elephants are big feature in Chobe in the green season and the river front offers a constant of big and small game with lots of predator action
- the emerald Okavango Delta becomes the focus of attention for a further 3 nights and includes mekoro (dugout canoe) trails, day and night game drives along floodplains and waterways
- the contrast of the Kalahari with its vast pans and sandy islands concludes the trip with a 3 night stay.
