An off beat guided safari to Central African Republic connecting via Cameroon, South Africa or Kenya. The trip includes tracking with the Ba-Aka pygmies, viewing forest elephant, trekking western lowland gorilla and viewing an astonishing array of birds and other species including the striking bongo antelope.
Where is it?
The safari is centred in the Dzanga-Ndoki National Park in the Central African Repulic.
The Dzanga-Sangha Reserve is located in the rainforest in the south-western part of the Central African Republic near the borders of both Cameroon and Congo. It comprises a total area of more than 4 000 km2 (more than 400 000 hectares). The two central parts of the Reserve, the Dzanga and Ndoki Sectors, constitute the Dzanga-Ndoki National Park, covering 495 km2 and 725 km2respectively.
What is the best time of year to go?
The safari is available on set departure dates only departing once a month throughout the year.
How to get there
Fly on scheduled flights to Douala in Cameroon on Air France or via Johannesburg on SAA. From Doula you'll connect to Bayanga on the borders of the Dzanga-Ndoki National Park on a private charter.
Direct flights into Bangui are operated by Kenya Airways from Nairobi or Ethiopian Airways from Addis Ababa on certain days of the week.

Doli Lodge has been welcoming guests from all over the world for 16yrs, and offering them the rare rainforest comforts of a deck overlooking the Sangha River with a bar and restaurant serving European and African cuisine.
There are 8 en suite bungalows with varying configurations constructed of wooden buildings raised above the ground on stilts. The living quarters have a terrace with a view of the river and are equipped with mosquito nets, a bathroom and a ceiling fan. Accommodation is basic, but with all the necessary comforts.
