Lake Manyara, Ngorongoro Crater and the Serengeti - 7 days/6 nights
The itinerary includes game viewing in Lake Manyara and Ngorongoro Crater with three nights in the Serengeti – all in private campsites. Our mobile safaris travel into the best areas of this game-packed region, camping amongst the Big Five with the sounds of the African bush all around.
Camping is a perfect way to get close to nature, but with our style of trip you don’t miss out on the comforts! You awake to the sounds of the birds in the morning, and go to sleep with the sound of distant lions.
Where is it?
Arusha, Lake Manyara, Ngorongoro Crater and the Serengeti - all in northern Tanzania.
What is the best time of year to go?
Like Kenya, Tanzania has two "rainy seasons", a short one ("mvuli") during November and December, and a longer one ("masika") over the months of late February to May. There is very little rainfall outside these seasons.
How to get there
Fly into Mt Kilimanjaro airport in Arusha, Tanzania. The best access is via Nairobi in Kenya or direct flights into Dar es Salaam or Arusha. Speak to our consultant about organising these flights for you.
Tips and Notes
This price is a guideline for a set departure trip with a small group up to a maximum of 7 guests. Private trips can be arranged but usually cost a bit more.
This is not a lodge based safari but a very comfortable and fully backed-up camping safari. All equipment is provided, together with driver/guide and camp staff.
Some of the drives are long and dusty but this is necessary on the Serengeti because of its size. If you'd prefer to spend more time in camp and less driving, look at one of our fly-in fixed camp/lodge alternatives.
These three locations are Tanzania's most reputed game and sight seeing locations however they can be busy with other vehicles and people.
