This safari combines a prime wildlife area on the Northern edge of the Masai Mara with a private conservancy on the edge of the Nguruman Escarpment in Southern Kenya. Both areas offer uncrowded wilderness off the beaten track.
In the Masai Mara we've chosen a season bush camp offering an authentic Mara wildlife experience. Walking, undwinding around the glowing embers of a campfire all add to the true bush safari.
In contrast, our luxury lodge at Shompole overlooks the volcanic hills of the Great Rift Valley. The unique contemporary style blends the African bush with white quartz stone and polished fig-wood. Water is a main feature of the property, flowing through each room.

What is the best time of year to go?
This safari is good year round but our Mara camp closes during the long rains in April / May.
The best time to catch the annual migration in the Masai Mara is July to October.

Tips and Notes
We recommend a minimum of 3 nights at each camp.
Shared charters to Shompole are available 3 times a week from Nairobi otherwise access is via private charter.
This itinerary is not recommended for very small children due to the design of Shompole Lodge.
