Victoria Falls, Chobe National Park and Moremi Reserve - 10 days/9 nights
An excellent safari option which includes Victoria Falls for 3 nights to see the magnificent Zambezi River falling 108 metres to the gorge below; the best elephant herds in the world in Chobe National Park and Moremi Game Reserve, probably the most prolific game viewing spot in Southern Africa.
Where is it?
The safari includes Victoria Falls on the Zambian side of the river in a waterside lodge situated in the Mosi-oa-Tunya; an owner run lodge in an exclusive section of the Chobe National Park and a beautifully located camp in the heart of the Moremi Wildlife Reserve, Botswana's best game viewing area.
What is the best time of year to go?
This safari can be done year round bearing in mind the rainy season is from late November to end of March each year.
The Victoria Falls are at their driest September to January and peak flooding is during April when it is impossible to see the Falls because of the high volume of spray.
How to get there
Fly into Lusaka airport or Johannesburg airport. From either of these, we will fly you to Livingstone Airport near the Victoria Falls which is where you start the safari. At the end of the safari you'll finish in Maun.
At extra cost we will book you a flight back to Johannesburg or Lusaka or continue the safari or perhaps you could end for a few days on the beach in Mozambique.
Tips and Notes
This safari makes good use of the best there is to see in Zambia and Botswana using small, exclusive lodges. Many of the lodges and hotels in Victoria Falls and Chobe are large and cater for much larger groups.

Thorntree Lodge
Situated on the Zambian bank of the Zambezi River, within the renowned Mosi-Oa-Tunya National Park and just 15 kilometres upstream from the spectacular Victoria Falls lies the secluded Thorntree River Lodge.
This is also the home of the elephants who ride out each day from the back of the lodge. This is an unspoiled setting particularly unique for this stretch of the Zambezi River.
Thorntree River Lodge's riverside location and its unique position with the National Park allows for a wide choice of activities, including sunset cruises, game-drives, cultural tours, fishing and of course visits to the Falls themselves.
The Mosi-Oa-Tunya National Park is a sanctuary for white rhino as well as a haven for many other species including giraffe, sable, zebra, wildebeest, buffalo and a wide variety of birds.
Muchenje Lodge
Muchenje Lodge is situated in the west of Chobe National Park on an escarpment overlooking the Chobe River and with a spectacular view over vast plains. This lodge is owner run and managed which is one of its greatest attractions, and is the only lodge in this section of Chobe.
Just a short 2.5hr drive from Victoria Falls to Kasane in Botswana and then a connecting 45 min drive into camp means very little time is wasted getting into the thick of things out in the bush.
Staying in the lodge assures greater privacy and time out from the many visitors who visit Chobe National Park everyday. The park is well-known for its huge herds of elephant and shares its border wth Hwange National Park in Zimbabwe.
Camp Okuti
Camp Okuti reopened in December 2007 after a complete rebuild. Looking onto the Maunachira River flowing into the Xakanaxa Lagoon and fortunately situated in the top rated Moremi Wilderness Reserve. The wildlife in this area is prolific and excellent for photography.
Game viewing is by both vehicle and motorboat on the nearby waterways. The Gadikwe Heronry is situated close-by.
