South Luangwa NP and Lower Zambezi river - 11 days/10 nights

The Zambia Explorer uses camps which are extremely comfortable, small and intimate and all with en suite bathroom with hot and cold running water. On the walks, which are taken at a slow pace (not an army route march), there are porters who carry refreshments and any extra equipment you may wish to take. The drives are in open four wheel drive vehicles, with 3 tier seats for uninhibited viewing, and no more than 6 people are taken at a time to avoid discomfort in the vehicle. Boating, Canoeing and fishing on the lower Zambezi is available as a morning or afternoon excursion - the choice is yours!

South Luangwa National Park in eastern Zambia with 3 nights on the Lower Zambezi River, Zambian side.

This safari is available from beginning of April to the end of November (dry season)

How to get there

You will need to fly into Lusaka international airport from your home country. We can arrange these flights for you if you're based in the UK or USA otherwise you'll need to book your own intercontinental flights.

Our representative will meet you at the Lusaka airport and put you on the short flight from Lusaka to Mfuwe airport in the South Luangwa National Park

One arrive at Mfuwe airport your driver will meet you and take you on a 30 minute drive to your lodge inside the South Luangwa National Park for your first night.

At the end of the safari we'll drop you safely back at the Lusaka airport ready to connect to your international flight.

Tips and Notes

This is one of our most highly recommended safaris in Africa. It takes place in two very beautiful areas and combines dry and wet land game viewing in game rich regions without being surrounded by other vehicles and people.

Cost includes:

• All internal flights and ground transfers, starting and terminating in Lusaka.
• Accommodation is inclusive of all meals, snacks, drinks (including alcohol) other than your first night, laundry and unlimited game viewing activities at the South Luangwa Bush Camps and on the Lower Zambezi river and includes park entrance fees throughout.

The cost does not include:

• Zambian visa fees - you can purchase a visa for US$60 per person on arrival in Lusaka.
• Drinks on the first night in South Luangwa National Park
