Canoe Safaris in Zimbabwe

Canoe Safaris in Zimbabwe

We concentrate on lower Zambezi canoe safaris with it's ideal combination of unspoilt wilderness, some of the finest game and birdlife in the region, truly excellent river guides and a wide range of options to suit all tastes. Recently we've opened up a new canoe safari in the Niassa Reserve, Mozambique which is offers an exciting combination of walking and canoeing in a relatively unexplored area.

Mana Pools National Park, a World Heritage Site is on the southern bank - the remote Lower Zambezi National Park is on the northern shoreline in Zambia. For more detailed maps and similar options also see our canoe safaris on our UK site together with a Lower Zambezi map.

Aside from the valley's magical scenery and some of the most spectacular sunsets on earth at any time of year, you're assured of seeing big game including hippo, buffalo and elephant. The large game is found in higher concentrations past the Nyakasanga River into Mana Pools and the Lower Zambezi National Park.

Apart from the Lower Zambezi there are excellent full or half day canoe trips on the Upper Zambezi above Victoria Falls. By special arrangement we can organise a longer overnight canoe trail. An excellent combination safari for experienced horse riders would be a canoe safari on the Lower Zambezi followed by a week long horse riding safari in Hwange National Park, finishing off at Victoria Falls.

Other forms of canoe safaris are conducted on the Tugela River in South Africa and the Kunene River in Namibia.
