Carmine bee eaters arrive in South Luangwa NP - 9 September 2010
Carmine bee-eaters have arrived in the South Luangwa National Park and are busy building their nests in the river banks.
Bee-eaters must rank as one of the most delightful birds on earth. Southern Carmine Bee-eaters are social birds breeding in large colonies on river banks and foraging out across open country.
In fact they're often seen right alongside your game viewing vehicle, swooping and circling to catch the insects thrown up by the movement of the wheels.
They're regarded with the greatest affection (other than bee keepers)!
