Odzala-Kokoua National Park, Republic of Congo (Brazzaville) - 6 nights/7 days
Where is it?

The safari takes place in Odzala-Kokoua National Park in the Republic of Congo (Brazzaville). Part of the Tridom National Park and in the Congo Basin where the second biggest rainforest in the world is located.
Around one quarter of the world's rainforests are found in the Congo Basin, second only to the Amazon!
What is the best time of year to go?

Our trips will depart with a maximum of 12 guests and a minimum of 2 guests throughout the year.
The temperature is fairly even throughout the year, sitting at around 30C on average. In the north of the country, the driest part of the year is between December and February. To the south of the Congo, the driest time is between April to October.
Around Lango Bai, the green seasons March to May and September to November, have frequent bouts of rain. In between the rain, the sky is clear and blue with sunshine penetrating into the forests. Its a great time to see elephants, year round primates such as grey cheeked mangabey, putty nosed monkey and colobus. Rarer sightings of bongo, sitantunga and red river hog. At night you could see galagos and palm civet.
December to February and June to August are drier. The air could be hazy and water levels lower. Gorillas feed in the trees during this period and are therefore easier to see.
Birding is excellent year round and chimpanzees are also frequently seen all year.
How to get there

The safari starts from Brazzaville, the capital of Congo, which is easily accessed by numerous airlines, notably Air France via Paris, Inter Air via Johannesburg and Kenya Airways via Nairobi, thus making the destination easily accessible from Europe and also combinable with Southern or East African safaris.
The cost of all flights is excluded from the price. Your Zambezi consultant can advise you on the correct flights to book, or book them on your behalf at additional cost.
