The camps are located in central Botswana on the edge of the Makgadikgadi Pan, part of the Makgadikgadi-Nxai National Park and the Kalahari Desert.

What is the best time of year to go?

The safari runs on two set departure dates per month throughout the year and there are distinct differences between the wet and the dry rides. 

Dry rides take place May to October; wet rides from October to end of April. During the wet season there is a chance to see the Botswana wildebeest and zebra migration while the dry season offers wild and pleasurable gallops across the dry pans.

How to get there

Fly to Johannesburg, and then on to Maun, Botswana. From Maun, transfer by light aircraft to Camp Kalahari.

A 3 night ride is also available.

Long rides through incredible scenery; sleep out on the pans under the stars.

Get up close and personal with meerkats; walk with Zu/'hoasi Bushmen trackers.

Game drives viewing unique desert wildlife; visit Chapman's and Greens baobab. 

Children must be 12yrs or older and extremely confident and competent riders.
