Where is it?
The Quirimbas Archipelago is in the far north east of Mozambique, on the border with Tanzania. Ibo Island and Quirimbas Islands are just two of the 32 islands forming the archipelago.
What is the best time of year to go?
The coastal regions are best visited in the dry, winter months of May to October, when the daytime temperature is around 20-25°Celsius.
There is no reason not to visit in the summer months November to April however the weather can be oppressively hot and humid.
How to get there
The holiday starts and ends at Pemba airport. Transport from mainland to the islands is by small plane charter or helicopter and between the islands is on traditional dhows or motorboats, an activity in itself.
Your Zambezi consultant can advise and arrange connecting flights to reach Pemba at the beginning and end of your trip.
