The 11 day trip traverses two spectacular areas of Zimbabwe and Botswana, home to some of the most magnificent wildlife and breath-taking scenery in Africa, harking back to the original meaning of the sord 'safari', or journey. With a small group of 4 to 8 guests, a private guide and vehicle and access to private concessions, the itinerary offers an exclusive glimpse into the expeditions of old.

Start in Victoria Falls where you'll visit this spectacular waterfall. Continue to Hwange National Park for 3 nights where you'll enjoy viewing one of the best elephant herds in the world from your luxury tented camp. Fly on to Botswana and the Okavango Delta - another gem of the natural world. You'll enjoy two camps around the Okavango Delta exploring the wet and the dry areas of this rich region including a makoro (dug-out canoe) activity.

Victoria Falls Hotel

The grand old lady of Victoria Falls this is a world-class hotel situated within the Victoria Falls National Park, a world-heritage site. Built in 1904 the Edwardian style hotel is set in delightful gardens overlooking the Zambezi River gorge below Victoria Falls. The spray of the falls is clearly visible from the hotel as is the elegant iron bridge between Zimbabwe and Zambia. The Falls are within an easy 10 minute walk. 

The opulent Livingstone Room offers fine dining and dancing, Jungle Junction is more relaxed with famous breakfast and dinner buffets and an adjacent sculpture garden. Stanley Terrace serves delicious afternoon teas and cocktails and has been a meeting place for African adventurers for over a century. The 161 rooms are steeped in colonial history and complimented by a large swimming pool, 2 tennis courts, a library, reading rooms, a chapel and a golf course is nearby. 

 

Davisons Camp

Davisons Camp

Situated on its own concession deep within Hwange National Park in the north eastern sector, this is one of the best game viewing areas in this region. A traditional, classic tented camp beneath an ancient canopy of false mopane trees and overlooking a waterhole. 

With just 8 tents and a family tent the camp has an intimate feel and the communal area is  comfortable with a sitting area, dining room and pool. Activities include game drives in open 4x4 vehicles or guided walks. During siesta spot game around the waterhole. 

Wildlife species include lion, large herds of elephant, buffalo, leopard, white rhino, spotted hyaena, southern giraffe, sable, blue wildebeest, impala, common waterbuck, reedbuck. Over 400 species of birdlife. 

Khwai Adventure Camp

Khwai Adventure Camp

This authentic camp is located in a private concession just north of Moremi Game Reserve. This is one of the most diverse areas in Botswana with the life giving Khwai River playing a central role. The terrain is a blend of forests, floodplain, wetland and grasslands. 

Accommodation is in 6.3m x 3.5m walk-in canvas tents. The airy tents are designed in the early explorer style with rich teak director chairs, bedside tables with reading lamps, canvas and wood wardrobes, bathrobes, comfortable beds and mirrors. The en suite toilet and shower are equipped with toiletries. 

Large predators include lion, wild dog and spotted hyaenas. The elusive roan antelope is a specialty of the area and numerous other large mammals are present such as hippo and buffalo. The beautiful riverine woodlands provide sanctuary's for both birds and primates.
