Mfuwe Lodge is the only lodge built inside of the South Luangwa National park in the Mfuwe sector. Its possible to visit the lodge year round although access to some areas is a bit restricted during rainy season (late Nov to end of March).
The lodge sleeps up to 40 guests and is well appointed with excellent facilities including battery charging facilities and hair driers. Each chalet has its own large verandah overlooking the river below, a luxurious bathroom and there is a spa, library and lovely, open reception area with bar and dining room.
The lodge is famed for the elephants who walk through the reception area every year in November looking for delicious marula fruits which grow on the trees near reception!
We highly recommend the lodge for the first night after arrival to gather your thoughts and repack ready to head off into the bush the next day or your last night before departure. As there is electricity its possible to rechare batteries, do your hair or even spoil yourself with a spa treatment.
