Mutemwa Lodge is situated 250 km upstream from Victoria Falls and 50 km north of Katima Mulilo, in a remote and uncommercialised area of Barotseland.

WILDLIFE

Whilst not prolific in "big game" due to past poaching, the area is a paradise for birders and fishermen. The Lodge offers trips into the Sioma Ngwezi Game Reserve where a re-stocking programme is currently in place.

ACCOMMODATION

6 twin bedded "East African" style safari tents built on a teak deck with en-suite shower toilet and hand wash-basin. All with a private deck overlooking the Zambezi River.

  • Swimming pool and wooden pool deck overlooking the Zambezi River.

  • Overnight "island stays"

  • Drives and overnights into Sioma Ngwezi Game Reserve NB GAME IS NOT PROLIFIC IN THE AREA YET.

TRANSFERS

BY AIR:

  • Fly into Victoria Falls or Livingstone, Air Namibia has flights on Mondays, Wednesdays and Sundays from Victoria Falls to Mpacha and on Fridays from Livingstone to Mpacha - same day returns. Please check current airline timetables.

CHARTER FLIGHTS:

  • From South Africa, Victoria Falls, Livingstone, Maun and Lusaka to Mpacha. The Lodge strip will be finished by mid 1998.

BY ROAD:

  • Transfer from Victoria Falls on request. Minimum 4 pax, maximum 12 pax.

MAXIMUM AND MINIMUM CLIENTS

  • No minimum number of clients

  • Maximum: 12 clients

 

CLIENT REQUIREMENTS

If travelling from Zimbabwe: customs and immigration formalities must be cleared.

Facilitation at both border posts has been organised to speed up this procedure.

1. Double entry visa for Zimbabwe - if required.

2. Return air tickets or vehicle registration particulars - if required.

3. Zambian visa - if necessary obtainable at border post unless you hold:

Swedish, Danish, and Finnish passports - these cannot be obtained at the border. Visas for these passport holders can only be obtained from a Zambian Embassy prior to the client's departure on holiday.

4. Health documents.

5. Please advise Safari Par Excellence of any dietary requirements and any particular interests e.g. botany, ornithology, avid fishermen etc.
