Our payment procedure is very simple. We confirm your status only on receipt of a deposit. The value of the deposit and terms of the payment of the balance will be spelt out to you at reservation stage. No reservation is confirmed without prior payment unless agreed to in writing.

We make extensive use of credit card payments. We accept traveller's cheques and bank drafts. We also accept cash payments - please note that we are liable for 17,5% sales tax on cash receipts (Zimbabwean law dictates any receipt other than that from a foreign source) irrespective of currency - this is charged to the client. We therefore recommend credit card, traveller's cheque or bank draft.

In the case of bank draft:

  • Our account details are as follows-

  • Barclays Bank, Kariba Branch, Zimbabwe (Branch code 2536)

  • Account number 1296206 (The Zambezi Safari and Travel Co.)

  • We usually experience delays in confirmation of deposit, we'd appreciate deposit details and a specific request to your banker to "advise beneficiary".

In the case of credit card payments (we presently only support Visa and MasterCard):

  • We require your card number, expiry date and an instruction to debit your account.

  • We post the transaction electronically via BarclayCard in Harare.

  • All exchange rate conversions are done, on the day of payment, according to the Olsen and Associates Currency Converter (Interbank +2% typical credit card surcharge).

  • We immediately advise receipt number and transaction detail.

  • Your receipt is held until arrival or mailed in advance depending upon arrangements made with you.

Until we have established a more secure means of payment we recommend the relay of credit card instructions as follows:

  • If you don't have a problem relaying details by e-mail, then do so (many clients don't have a problem - insurance covers fraud, our merchant ID(available from BarclayCard, Harare) is as traceable as any other)

  • Send us multiple messages, using X's in place of blank digits

  • Send a key with a coded or encrypted message (if encrypted please advise the software source in case we don't have it)

  • Send a zipped message with a separate password

  • Never include "credit card details", "payment details" or similar in your message header.
