Ol Donyo in Kenya

Kenya Ol Donyo in Kenya – March:: We’re glad you talked us into this place because we loved it.  Very comfortable, great room.  We had cottage 2 on the end which I highly recommend!  We got on very well with the camp manager and his girlfriend – they really made us feel at home and we just enjoyed spending time with them.  Good wildlife sightings.  We also got some exercise as we did a couple of good hikes in the 38 degree heat.  It was very dry but apparently the rains started a couple of days after we left, so good timing.

We also had one of our most unusual safari experiences ever on our last day there.  I had photographed an ellie in the morning and we noticed he had an infected wound in his backside.  The camp manager decided to call in the vet, who arrived via helicopter from Tsavo about 4 hours later.  They let us go out with them to dart the ellie and treat the wound.  It was amazing to see it all first hand, and of course we got to touch a sleeping elephant!  I’ve posted a few photos on Facebook if you want to connect with me.
