Surrounded by 80 000 hectares of unspoilt African bush lie three unique properties which have gained world-renowned acclaim for providing guests with an unforgettable African experience. The flagship of these is the Victoria Falls Safari Lodge.

Victoria Falls Safari Lodge

Set high on a natural plateau, the westward facing Victoria Falls Safari Lodge borders the unspoilt Zambezi National Park only three kilometres from the majestic Victoria Falls, Southern Africa's foremost attraction.

Enjoying uninterrupted views of spectacular African sunsets and with year-round game in its carefully preserved bush environment, the Lodge is ideally positioned to offer the discerning traveller a taste of Africa at its best. Its proximity to the "adventure safaris" associated with Victoria Falls makes it the ideal base from which to explore the region and of course participate in the many extreme sports options available in Victoria Falls.....

Designed to give the impression of a vast open-plan tree-house, the Lodge is built on intricate levels offering magnificent views of the African bushveld. The use of vibrant fabrics and rustic finishes, local hardwoods and clay tiles gives Victoria Falls Safari Lodge an undeniable appeal and unique character.

Of the 72 bedrooms, six are split level suites with a lounge, cloakroom and balcony on one level and a bedroom and en suite bathroom upstairs. Victoria Falls Safari Lodge is renowned for its cuisine - the Makuwa-Kuwa restaurant is a gourmet's delight and if you have the extra night - The Boma is a must.

Victoria Falls is of course the main hub for safari activities in Zimbabwe and Botswana, it's also a convenient launching point or final stop over for safaris in Zambia and Namibia.  Review the selection of safari maps for each of these safari destinations.

Walking safaris in Zimbabwe, Zambia and Botswana

Walking Safari MapWalking safaris from seasonal bushcamps and permanent lodges are the very best means for experiencing and appreciating southern Africa's wildlife and wilderness.

There are six top walking safari destinations in the region, the Selinda in Botswana and Hwange in Zimbabwe are two accessible directly from Victoria Falls.

Zambia is regarded as the home of the modern-day walking safari, we consider the Luangwa Valley as Africa's top walking destination - it's best accessed from Lusaka or Kariba.

Use our walking map of Southern Africa as a starting point for exploring the region.

The lower Zambezi's safari hub in Kariba is easily connected to from Victoria Falls.  Beside the walking options in Matusadona and Mana Pools, the lower Zambezi offers probably the best water based safaris in Africa via canoe.

These canoe safaris come in different styles ranging from expeditionary camping trip to deluxe backed up trails.  The walking and canoeing combinations of Matusadona and Mana Pools are excellent.  Use our map of the lower Zambezi to start your exploration.
